Who is Savannah?

Introducing Code/Art Miami Keynote Speaker and Mobile Augmented Reality (AR) Workshop Instructor, Savannah Niles.

Savannah Niles, a graduate of the MIT Media Lab, who currently works as a Design Lead, User Experience at Magic Leap. Savannah has designed interactive experiences with Twitter, Walt Disney Imagineering, and Bloomberg.

Savannah’s workshop, Mobile AR, will teach our attendees about new platforms for virtual reality and AR that are enabling a new age for computing: one that’s spatial and contextualized into our real world environments. The workshop will include learning about the different kinds of spatial computing platforms and how to prototype 3D, spatial apps using AR and your mobile phone.

How did you begin working in tech?

Through an interest in art, and a curiosity in how technology could be brought into my creative projects

Why is a program like Code/Art Miami important to you?

It’s no longer a field limited to math majors and gamers. Today technology is about real places, real communities, real women; it’s becoming something more human, more social, more open, more artful. So of course the next computing revolution should be led by girls.

What was your favorite class when you were in elementary school?
